“And I thought about how many people have loved those songs. And how many people got through a lot of bad times because of those songs. And how many people enjoyed good times with those songs. And how much those songs really mean. I think it would be great to have written one of those songs. I bet if I wrote one of them, I would be very proud. I hope the people who wrote those songs are happy. I hope they feel it's enough. I really do because they've made me happy. And I'm only one person.”

me

My name is Ally Nawrocki (NAH-ROCK- EE) and I am 16 years old. I like music. A lot. I like music because it connects the world like nothing else does. I like it because it can either make you cry, or it can fill you with joy. It’s the one thing that’s always there and can comfort you when you need it to. Most everyone connects with music from a young age, and I was definitely one of those people. I would sing and dance a lot when I was little, so when my family was moved from Chicago to Nashville, my parents thought that they should put me in singing and performing classes to help me embrace the music of Nashville. I absolutely loved it. I had been playing piano since I was 5 years old, but it wasn’t until many years later that I put 2 and 2 together and began singing and playing the piano with my amazing piano teacher Rina Melius. This sparked my passion for music, and I began to write my own songs. I liked writing songs because you didn’t have to follow any rules or abide by anyone else’s melody. It was purely everything that came out of your head and scribbled onto paper that somehow found its way into kinda making sense. I am just starting to play guitar, and have recorded at blackbird studios in Nashville with my good friend Grace Gilliam. I have also been featured in veggie tales videos and have sung on a few of those albums when I was a little girl. Pretty much all of that combined is why I like music. I hope you like mine.
